/ Appleton / Middlesex Neighborhood, Lowell, MA The JAM Urban Renewal Plan for the revitalization of the Hamilton Canal area in Lowell, Massachusetts, is finally gaining momentum after years of planning and negotiating. Enormous changes are on the horizon for the culture in this area of Lowell. It is unknown how these changes on Jackson Street and the surrounding area will affect the current population. I began documenting Lowell in 2005, when I moved into an old mill building on Jackson Street. This series of photographs attempts to preserve a slice of the culture and atmosphere of the current neighborhood, as well as observe the changes taking place in its population and its structures.
